Baker The Daily Independent Lake Isabella and Kernville folks are stepping up each year by hosting more and more events for the pleasure of com- munity residents and tourists alike. Several events are hosted annually and featured by the chambers located in the area. In February, the Kernville Chamber will present Whiskey Flat Days, Wild West Daze Rodeo and Iron Horse Rodeo in one action-packed weekend during President’s Day weekend. On July 1, the Kern River Valley Cham- ber will present the 4th of July Celebra- tion. Held on the first Saturday of each year, the fireworks extravaganza will be held at Engineer Point in Lake Isabella at sunset. Bring the whole family, lawn chairs and a nice picnic basket and enjoy the show. Visitors to Kernville enjoy the Kern River on their inner tubes and kayaks.
