Many readers are interested in visiting, staying, or camping in the Eastern Sierra, yet are unsure of what type of accommodations would be right for them. Some have no RV at this time and would like to camp in a travel trailer. Some are towing a boat and have no RV. Here are some fun solutions to a won- derful vacation. Russ and Lori have mentioned vacation trailer rentals, and have an outfit for you folks that want to have an RV set up and ready to go in the Bridgeport area. Bridgeport Vacation Trailer rentals have some amazing off-season rates from May 1 to June 10. For $550, go camp in a fully self-contained 26-foot travel trailer. Included are four nights campsite fees at Lower twin Lakes Resort or Mono Village. In addi- tion, they will include a three-day boat and motor rental. Bridgeport Trailer Rentals also carries this off-season deal from Aug. 15 to Oct. 31. Summer rates are higher, but this is one outstanding deal. Call them at 866-224-5881 or 760-932-7740. Would you rather experience an honest to goodness Bridgeport ho- tel that was established in 1877? Enjoy the town by staying at The Bridgeport Inn. In Victorian Style, this quaint inn will have you re- laxed and enjoying the moment. Their family restaurant serves up lo- cal fare as well as many other fine dining choices. The hotel is also pet-friendly — bring Fido with you! WiFi is free, parking is free, as well as DirecTV flat-screen television. Call them at 760-932-7380. Up for some horseback riding, a comfy cabin, and delicious meals? The Hunewill Guest Ranch has been in operation since 1931. Based right there in Bridgeport, what an incredible way to enjoy nature. Fantastic for a family, a couple, or a single person, the family at- mosphere has everyone welcome here. Stay in a great cabin, do some fishing, go horseback riding, or just relax on the porch of your cabin. The scenery is breathtaking in this unique experience. Winter num- ber is 775-465-2201. Summer number is 760-932-7710. Russ and Lori have a favorite fishing location in California. The West Walker River is a great fishing location. There are campgrounds along the river, but some may wish to stay at the West Walker Motel. Folks, this is a hunting, fishing, hiking, vacationer, and biker friendly motel. Approved pets are welcome too, and this family operated mo- tel has in-room refrigerators, microwaves, WiFi, satellite TV, and free inroom coffee. Minutes from super fishing areas. Call them in Walker at 530-495-2263. The Walker River Lodge, also located in Bridgeport, has rooms with kitchen suites. With an included free continental breakfast, this lodge is really nice. A picnic area right on the river, in-room mi- crowave and refrigerator, immerse yourself in just hanging out and relaxing. Call the Walker River Lodge at 760-932-7021. Certainly the ultimate fishing trip, pack trips are available by horseback. Riding up to some of the most pristine lakes in California, there is literally no other adventure like this. Partial day, full day, even cattle drive rides are available. On horseback, the pace is perfect. Never rush nature, and nature is best enjoyed when not in a rush. Check out the MonoCounty.org website for more detailed informa- tion on an adventure that may appeal to you.
